Man City said goodbye in style

Man City said farewell to Kolarov with a lovely tweet.

Roma’s sporting director Monchi believes Kolarov’s experience will be vitally important following Francesco Totti’s retirement.

“Aleksandar is a player with vast experience who can immediately contribute to the team,” the club’s sporting director, Monchi, said. “I believe he will help us develop, on and off the pitch.

“I want to thank him for the enthusiasm and willingness he has shown in wanting to come to Roma.”

Kolarov didn't want to stay at City

Pep Guardiola didn’t want to stand in Kolarov’s way once the player informed him of his desire to leave.

"I don't like to work with people who don't want to stay," Guardiola said this week, per ESPN. "Kola helped me a lot last season in terms of many, many things.

"But he had a big chance to go back to Rome where he was before and he spoke to me, the club and asked me to leave.

"I don't like to stay with players who don't want to stay. That's why it's the best option for everybody.”
