In September, football lovers will be overjoyed with the arrival of the latest edition of Fifa and this year looks as if it is going to be the best yet.

The EA Sports franchise has dominated the genre in recent years with its innovative features and realistic gameplay.

Last year's game was a resounding success but many were quick to point out that there were still some noticeable flaws.

One of the main ones which frustrated many was the crossing aspect of the game, something which desperately required enhancing.

Well, the prayers of fans have been answered with EA announcing that they have updated the way in which players cross the ball and have added several exciting new features.

The first is what is known as 'searching crosses' when, instead of having to deliver the ball to a designated target, players can pump a ball to the back post in the hope that one of your players will catch the opposition napping

The second is lobbed crosses which will allow you to delicately dink the ball into the box, rather than whip in a floated ball which is simply gathered by the opposing goalkeeper with ease.

This will be ideal for finding players making late runs into the box, meaning that your midfielders could be added goal threats.

The final new addition to the gameplay is the ability to play in 'dangerous crosses'. Again, rather than being directed into a target, your player will instead deliver a curling torpedo from deep into the box in search of your striker.

All three new features look like they will add yet more realism to the game and will certainly make goals look more spectacular.

The game launches on Xbox and PS4 on September 29 and judging by this video, it is going to be brilliant.
