It has been a very mixed transfer window for Liverpool so far this summer. Jurgen Klopp's side have certainly made smart acquisitions in the form of Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson, but it has not all been plain sailing. At the start of the summer, the Reds were left humiliated in their pursuit of Southampton's Virgil van Dijk, with the club having to make a public apology due to 'tapping up' the Dutch defender. The former Celtic man has since gone on strike to force through a move, with Mauricio Pellegrino actually making the Saints man train alone.

Now, Klopp's side are embroiled in another saga, however, this time it concerns a player already on their books.

Philippe Coutinho has been the subject of serious interest from Barcelona with the Spanish giants having a £72m rejected by the Merseyside club.

The Blaugrana have scouted the Brazilian star for over two years and want him to replace Neymar if he leaves for PSG or, they want to use him as a bargaining chip to persuade the flying winger to remain in Spain.

Former Southampton legend and Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier has clearly been watching both scenarios unfold and decided to post a pretty hilarious tweet.

The Gillette Soccer Saturday man takes aim at both Liverpool and Van Dijk, trolling them to the best of his ability.

LE TISSIER'S TWEET

The former Saints man has voiced his opinion on Van Dijk's situation already, saying last month, per The Sun: “I remember the days when Liverpool used to be quite classy in transfer negotiations.

“There have been no bids for Virgil this summer, and until a bid has been accepted you shouldn’t be talking to the player.”

You get the feeling he is not the biggest fan of Liverpool anyway, probably because they have stolen all of Southampton's best players in recent years.

Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane are just of the names to make the switch from the south coast to Merseyside.
