Premier League clubs are on course, collectively, to set a new spending record this summer.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all spent well over £100 million with the transfer window not closing until the end of next month.

Alvaro Morata became Chelsea's club record signing at £70 million, while City have already made four major signings on top of Douglas Luiz from Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama.

But while three of the Premier League's title contenders have been heavily backed financially by their respective owners, Liverpool's spending has been somewhat more moderate.

Dominic Solanke's arrival from Chelsea is set to cost just £3 million which will be decided by a tribunal after he was allowed to leave for free following his contract expiration, while Mohamed Salah and Andrew Roberton have cost the Reds a combined £49 million.

Despite being one of English football's biggest clubs, Liverpool have not naturally been one of the Premier League's big spenders over recent years.

Liverpool boss puts faith in current squad

However, despite Salah representing the only big-name signing at Anfield so far this summer, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not concerned by their rivals heavy spending.

Instead, the former Borussia Dortmund boss has emphasised his desire to put his faith in the players already at the club rather than a major overhaul - given they finished fourth last campaign.

“Finishing fourth in the Premier League was, for us, a really big thing. Two really big teams were behind us and we should not forget that," said Klopp, per the Mirror.

“This group of players achieved that – so give them another chance. Yes, there are a few little things that we can – and will – improve, but the message is 'let's go again'.

Klopp reveals Reds don't have to spend big

“There has been a lot of business around us, but I'm not interested in that. I watch it all like a fan. Yes it's interesting that teams have bought him and him, but it doesn't make me want to do the same.

“The difference between us and the other teams is that we haven't lost any players.”

Chelsea have already lost Solanke to Liverpool, on top of John Terry, Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah's departures, with Diego Costa set for an eventual return to Atletico Madrid.

While United allowed club legend Wayne Rooney to return to Everton and City shipped Joe Hart out on loan to West Ham.

For Liverpool, though, their only worry is whether the club can maintain their resistance to sell star man Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are willing to pay £80 million for the Brazil midfielder, but Klopp insists he loves Liverpool and will definitely remain at Anfield this summer.
