Jinder Mahal is certainly loving life right now, as he’s still the WWE Champion in what many consider one of the biggest shocks of all time.
If you avoided the internet in the build-up to Backlash earlier this year, then the result would have surely come as a surprise. If you keep up to date with all of the happenings, then the WWE’s decision to expand into India and making The Modern Day Maharaja wouldn’t have shocked you, as it was a great business decision.
WWE CHAMPION
Still, it seems as if the experiment is continuing and his latest task takes place later tonight when he defends the gold, once again, against Randy Orton inside of the Punjabi Prison structure.

It’s unclear as to when his reign will come to an end before a new champion is crowned on SmackDown LIVE, and speculation already as Mahal eventually going up against John Cena in what could prove to be a record breaking victory for the latter.
Whether that happens, though, remains to be seen.
Instead, the 50th WWE Champion in history recently predicted where he sees himself next year after WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, Louisiana and is targeting an interesting opponent to eventually face on the blue brand.
Speaking to PhillyVoice, Mahal revealed he’ll have already main evented the Grandest Stage of Them All and plans on eventually battling former 3MB member, Drew McIntyre.
PREDICTION
According to Ringside News, he said: “In one year, I see myself as already main eventing WrestleMania, still WWE Champion.
“And you know what, I see Drew McIntyre being on SmackDown.
“I think that Drew McIntyre will be challenging me for my WWE Championship. That’s where I see myself in one year.”
That’s certainly a bold prediction to make, but you have to admire his ambitions when you consider the level he was at before WWE released him from his contract.
In fact, it’s not something you can completely rule out either as McIntyre is a big name on NXT right now where he’s challenging Bobby Roode for the biggest prize available.
NXT has a knack of creating stars, and McIntyre already knows what it takes to swim on the main roster, and he knows what it feels like to sink as well.
While Mahal might not be WWE Champion by the time WrestleMania 34 rolls around, the prospect of seeing the former 3MB members do battle in a prominent match would show just how far they’ve come.
