Manchester United made it three wins in three pre-season matches on their tour of the United States with a penalty shootout win over Real Madrid.Jesse Lingard opened the scoring in first half injury time before Casemiro’s equaliser from the penalty spot.But the Real Madrid midfielder’s miss from 12 yards in the shootout ensured Man United’s victory.Los Blancos will be eager to get revenge when the clubs meet for the UEFA Super Cup on August 8.Man United boss Jose Mourinho made eight changes at half-time and another one in the 52nd minute.But one player who saw out the entire 90 minutes was Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move from Old Trafford but he sent Mourinho a reminder of his talent with an impressive assist for Lingard.

Martial showcased brilliant ball control to turn Dani Carvajal inside-out before teeing up his teammate to finish.

Mourinho wants more consistency

Mourinho urged more consistency from Martial after the win, although he noted the 21-year-old is “working harder than before”.

"Obviously we want more consistency in his talent," Mourinho said, per ESPN. "I think today was positive for him, that's why I left him for 90 minutes on the pitch.

"He was enjoying it and trying things, it's important to try things in these friendly matches, so it's good for Anthony and his confidence.

"He is a young player, still time to learn, still time to improve, still time to develop, and it's also his personality.

"I can say he is training better than before, he's working harder than before. It's just a question to bring his talent more in a consistent way."

Lingard also praised Martial

Martial’s performance also drew praise from Lingard.

"It was great," the 24-year-old, who has impressed in the United States, said, per United’s website.

"Anthony's got great feet when it comes to close control and he's got the confidence to do it in a game. It's a nightmare for defenders.

“Luckily I've got myself into space at the back post, got away from my man and then put it away."
