Last week, Gary Neville made a prediction about Liverpool on Twitter that even he admitted he may come to regret.Liverpool looked like title contenders at times last season and have improved their squad with the signing of Mohamed Salah from AS Roma. But Sky Sports pundit Neville admitted last week that he thinks will have a “bad season” in an exchange with Jamie Carragher.“I'm just relaxed thinking about what a bad season your team are about to have !! ( could regret this post ),” Neville wrote.

Neville was probably just trolling. But there’s no question Liverpool fans have saved his tweet, ready to post it should Jurgen Klopp’s side enjoy a successful campaign.

That said, Neville failed to mention Liverpool when he named the clubs he expects to compete for the Premier League title.

“I said last season that the title would come to Manchester - and I was wrong - but I think this year it will,” Neville told Sky Sports, per the Independent.

“I think Chelsea will dip a little bit. Not in a negative way, but just having the Champions League will bring different challenges. I think Tottenham will be strong, but I feel that either United or City will win it, but I'm not sure who!

“I say it every year, whoever recruits best, wins the league.”

Neville trolled Liverpool on Monday

The Manchester United legend has shown throughout his time on Sky Sports and on Twitter than he loves to troll Carragher and Liverpool’s supporters.

And he was at it again on Monday when he responded to one of Matt Le Tissier’s tweets.

Le Tissier spent his entire career at Southampton but revealed on Sunday that he turned down the chance to play for Liverpool.

When a fan wrote to the Saints legend: “Shame no big clubs ever came in for you back in the day,” Le Tissier replied with: “True, turned down Liverpool though surely that counts 😘”.

Sensing his opportunity, Neville responded: “He said big clubs Matt 😉”.

We’re eagerly awaiting Carragher’s response to that.

Serious feud

The Sky Sports pair had their most furious debate to date earlier in the month when Neville pointed out the number of trophies he won during his time at Man United.

Neville lifted the Premier League trophy eight times at Old Trafford, something Carragher never managed to do at Liverpool.

And the former centre-back hit back with a serious dig at his colleague.

He wrote: “Before Fergie Utd 💩 since he left 💩 thank your lucky stars you played under him T-Bag! And take 1 CL off you were in a suit you fraud!!!”

Brutal, that.
