Monday's episode of RAW set up two huge title matches for Summer Slam which is only four weeks away.

With the biggest event of the Summer right around the corner, matches for the RAW Women's Championship and the Universal title were announced on Monday night.

An old enemy

While the announcement of the Universal Championship match sparked a mass brawl at the start of RAW, the Women's Championship match was revealed in a much more civilised manor.

One match on RAW however would have huge implications for Summer Slam as friends Bayley and Sasha Banks would compete one on one.

The two allies would battle with the winner earning her chance to challenge RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss for the title at Summer Slam.

The champion herself would even come to ringside to watch the match first hand.

Bliss and the WWE Universe were treated to an entertaining match where Bayley would come out victorious and earn her way to Brooklyn.

The disappointment was clear for Banks after the loss where she had been so close to victory, only for one counter by Bayley to be enough to seal the win.

Not compelled to sit at the announcer's table, Bliss would make her way to the ring after the match for a face to face with her new challenger.

The two would avoid coming to blows as Bliss would simply remind Bayley who the champion was and possibly even more.

Summer Slam won't be the first time that the pair meet in the ring and it was in fact Bayley who Bliss beat at Payback earlier this year to win the Championship.

Bayley and Bliss have clashed twice this year - at Payback and Extreme Rules and Bliss has emerged victorious on both occasions.

Summer Slam could very well be more of the same for the Champion, but Bayley does have a history of big performances in Brooklyn.

Shaping up well

The match between Bayley and Alexa Bliss will be an interesting one when Summer Slam rolls around and it is already the third match announced for the event.

Earlier in the night, a fatal 4-way for the universal Championship was announced bringing together Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar.

The four heavyweights will do battle in what is sure to be the show's main event.

Sunday night at Battleground also saw the first match for the event made as Natalya will be challenging Naomi for the Smackdown Women's Championship.
