Tony Bellew has been the toast of the boxing world ever since his massive upset win over David Haye in front of a packed O2 Arena back in March.

Bellew was the overwhelming underdog on the night, but stepped up to the challenge in a way that no one really expected, his opponent included, and eventually came out on top when Haye's corner threw in the towel in the 11th round.

However, many feel that Bellew's grudge match win was cast into shadow by the fact that Haye was hampered by a severe Achilles injury for several rounds. Haye's movement became extremely laboured and he was quite clearly in terrible pain leaving the door wide open for Bellew.

Ever since that dreadful night, Haye has been desperate to prove that he is the better the boxer and that, free of injury, he could overpower Bellew.

According to the Daily Mirror, both camps have come to the negotiating table to hash out terms for the much-desired rematch, but that they could be quite a distance from reaching an agreement.

Bellew is seemingly open to a rematch, but this time, it has to be on his terms.

Last time out, he bowed to unfavourable terms simply to get in the ring with Haye, a former two-weight world champion, but on this occasion, the glove is on the other hand, and it is Haye who will have to be the more accepting party.

Bellew earned his biggest ever purse after beating Haye, and a rematch would undoubtedly bring in just as much, if not more, money for the 34-year-old.

Should Haye refuse to bow to Bellew's terms, the Liverpudlian has other options at his disposal.

His promoter Eddie Hearn has said that the Liverpudlian has been contacted by both Andre Ward and Joseph Parker with regards to arranging fights.

It does seem likely, however, that Haye, who is stepping up his recovery from the same Achilles injury, will eventually compromise, such is his determination to prove that he is the superior boxer and that the defeat at the O2 was only because of his injury.

Hearn is also on the brink of announcing a titanic rematch between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko, with Las Vegas set to be the battle ground.
