Monaco respond to Marca
Within a couple of hours, Monaco had already responded to the rumours suggesting Mbappe would be leaving.
Local French newspaper Nice-Matin and Sky Sports both got in touch with the French club and confirmed that a deal had not been agreed.
Monaco denied any formal agreement with Real Madrid.
The denial will be positive news for the likes of PSG and Manchester City who are reportedly also trailing the teenager.
Real Madrid are believed to be Mbappe's first choice but the 18-year-old could prefer to spend one more season developing his talents in France.
The 2018 World Cup in Russia is less than twelve months away and he is assured of playing time at Monaco.
Karim Benzema is the first choice striker at the Santiago Bernabeu and it's unclear how Mbappe would fit into Zinedine Zidane's plans.
Real Madrid did recently complete the sales of Alvaro Morata and Danilo to Chelsea and Manchester City respectively, for a combined fee of £80m.
Enjoying a relatively quiet summer in the transfer market, the La Liga winners secured the signings of Theo Hernandez from rivals Atletico and Spanish wonderkid Dani Ceballos from Real Betis.
Zidane became the first coach to win back-to-back Champions League trophies and appears to be very happy with his squad.
Despite that, he's surely encouraging Florentino Perez to complete the acquisition of the most exciting youngster in world football.
A deal has not yet been agreed - but there's more than a month left of the transfer window.
