Chelsea may have started their transfer business a little later than some of their domestic rivals but they are certainly making up for lost time.

The arrivals of Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko last week followed previous summer signings Willy Caballero and Antonio Rudiger through the doors at Stamford Bridge.

And Antonio Conte is far from finished.

Still eager to improve the depth of last season's Premier League winners with the added burden of Champions League football to contend with this time around, Conte has his sights set on a few potential positions of weakness.

At the top of his priorities has been finding a new right-back.

The Chelsea boss is yet to replace Branislav Ivanovic, who left the club last season, and has been forced to largely depend on Victor Moses to occupy the wing-back position.

And after missing out on both potential targets Dani Alves and Danilo recently, Conte is now exploring his other options.

According to ESPN, the Italian has taken particular interest in Barcelona's Sergi Roberto.

Roberto, best known for scoring the dramatic winner in a historic victory for Barca over Paris Saint-Germain last term, spent most of the campaign at right-back but is also capable of playing in midfield.

However, after being drafted in to replace the outgoing Alves, the Spaniard did receive some criticism regarding his form over the course of the season and often struggled to live up to his predecessor.

Nevertheless, Conte sees him as a useful option to have and his flexibility to play in more than one position could come in very handy.

Whether the 25-year-old's current club are prepared to sell him is a different matter, though.

Barcelona recently brought in Benfica's Nelson Semedo to put Roberto's place in the starting XI into further doubt.

Roberto has two years left to run on his current deal at the Camp Nou which also features a £37.5 million buyout clause should Chelsea wish to ensure they secure their target.
