The NBA offseason is all about rumors, and few stories have generated more interest than Carmelo Anthony's future with the New York Knicks. That's been elevated by the fact that it's the Houston Rockets who are in hot pursuit of adding Anthony to their newly-formed superteam. Houston acquiring Chris Paul days ahead of free agency was one of the biggest shocks of the summer. Adding Anthony into that equation would put the Rockets into true superteam territory, armed with enough power to go up against the likes of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. It doesn't hurt that Houston recruited Anthony hard just a few summers ago. This is all possible because the Rockets were able to land CP3, arguably the most impactful move of the summer. The trade seemingly came out of nowhere, unless you happen to be former ESPN Insider and retired NFL executive Burt Steele. Steele tweeted on June 22 that "a little birdy" told him the Rockets were about to "make some moves." Six days later, and Paul was a Rocket. Fast forward to the present, and Steele has another Rockets scoop: He's heard that Anthony will be a member of the Rockets by 5:45 Tuesday afternoon:

This, of course, should be taken with a grain of salt. Steele is an interesting case, though. He's tweeted three total times since April 1, 2015 and 20 times total since activating his account in March of 2013. His social media usage is minimal, and he appears to be tight with Rockets general manager Daryl Morey:

The Rockets have been the favorite to land Anthony for some time, and it could be a matter of hours before it happens if our friend Mr. Burt Steele is on the right track again. Carmelo's future is one of the biggest dominoes left this summer, overshadowed only by Kyrie Irving requesting a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Kyrie Irving situation may have put trading Carmelo on hold while the Knicks evaluate that situation, especially with Cleveland being one of the destinations Anthony would reportedly waive his no-trade clause for. The problem for the Knicks, of course, is that Irving can fetch a far better return than 33-year-old Anthony.

Anthony may be headed to Houston very soon, according to the person who also happened to have the Paul scoop before anyone even floated it as a rumor. If Steele nails it again, the Rockets may want to find a way to control the man with the real inside source in Houston.
