Just 48 hours removed from winning the US Championship at Battleground on Sunday night, Kevin Owens has already seen his reigns as champion come to an end.

The prize fighter lost his prize on Smackdown Tuesday night after he was forced to defend the title against two bitter enemies.

A bad night for KO

Owens was forced to face the former champion AJ Styles and the returning Chris Jericho on Tuesday night as both men had claims to a title rematch.

It was all due to Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon who put the match together following a very interesting opening segment on the show.

While Owens was toasting his victory at Battleground, he would be confronted by Styles and Jericho would take the chance to make his comeback to the WWE.

That was when things would really get interesting:

The self proclaimed New Face of America would try to sneak away, only to be confronted by McMahon.

McMahon would confirm the match for later in the evening and it would prove to be just as good as fans could of hoped it to be.

In what proved to be a strong performance by Jericho on his return to the ring, Y2J would ultimately fall short of victory.

Jericho would suffer the losing pinfall to Styles who would capitalise on the good work done by Owens.

The final bell signalling the end of the match would prove to be far from the end for either Styles or Owens.

The now former Champion would show his frustration at the end of the show and would demand his title rematch to take place next week on Smackdown.

Pitting Styles against Owens once again next week, it will be interesting to see where Jericho will fit into the equation in the build up to Summer Slam.
