Tracked closely by Manchester United throughout the summer, Inter Milan appear to have softened their stance on Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian winger is currently in Singapore ahead of Inter's International Champions Cup matches against Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
Perisic, 28, joined the 'Nerazzurri' from Wolfsburg for €16m in 2015 and, despite playing under four different managers, has remained a key player throughout.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho yesterday confirmed that he would like Ed Woodward to make two new signings.
“I’m happy with my squad," insisted Mourinho. "But I would like to have two more players, I never hide that, one player a midfield player would give me more options to the balance and the team.
“Another one an attacking player, especially that can play through the wings to give me more attacking options but I never speak about players that belong to other teams."
An excellent crosser of the ball, Perisic is an attacking player that can play on either wing.
Inter boss offers encouragement
Luciano Spalletti was appointed Inter boss in June and has revealed what needs to happen for United to land the Croatian winger.
"Sure, there were rumours, but the status quo is that we want to keep Perisic," said Spalletti.
"Having said that, if someone comes in with a very difficult offer to reject, then we'll consider that.
"But, of course, we'll need to find a valid alternative for Perisic as well."
Valued close to £50m, Inter are prepared to cash in if a huge offer comes in and depending on whether or not they can find a suitable replacement.
United have thus far made two signings totalling £105m, bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Everton and Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
Their pre-season tour of the United States comes to a climax tonight with their final International Champions Cup game against Barcelona.
The attention will all be on Neymar, who is reportedly weighing up an incredibly lucrative offer from PSG.
Mourinho's men are still to face Valerenga in Norway on Sunday before facing Sampdoria in Ireland next week.
