Kyrie Irving made his true feelings known last week, as it was revealed the 25-year-old had requested to be traded away from the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason. This came as a surprise to many people as many thought he was happy playing alongside LeBron James in a team had gone to the Finals each time over the last three seasons, winning the NBA Championship once during that period.Although he technically doesn't have to be traded by the Cavaliers since he still has plenty of time remaining on his current deal, it seems as though his time at the franchise is coming to an end, and one of his most recent Snapchat posts might confirm that. When Irving asked Cleveland to be traded, he gave the team a list of four teams he would like to be traded to. These were the San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Miami Heat or Minnesota Timberwolves. His Snapchat post might have given us an indication as to where he will be going. In his Snapchat story, the point guard can be seen on a plane singing the lyrics to “Coming Home” by Diddy. Although he was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Irving grew up in West Orange, New Jersey, so this could be an indication he is on his way to the Knicks. This also could be seen as a shot towards his current teammate LeBron James as he famously announced his decision to return to the Cavaliers with an essay on Sports Illustrated’s website titled “I’m Coming Home.”Or it could simply be seen as Irving coming back to the USA from his recent trip to Asia. Either way, things aren't going to be looking the same as they were in Cleveland next season.Irving sent out another Snapchat later confirming it was just him coming back from his trip to Asia, but there will be a certain group of fans out there that will believe there is a hidden meaning behind the choice of song.
The team doesn't have to trade the point guard, but reports have speculated that they will eventually do it.
They may have already signed his replacement in the form of Derrick Rose as well. The former New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls star signed a one-year, $2.1 million deal earlier this week.
