Gillett eyes longer stay

Doncaster midfielder Simon Gillett admits he would be happy to stay at the club beyond his loan period.

Gillett recently joined Rovers on-loan until December after manager Sean O'Driscoll secured his signature on his eighth attempt to loan him from parent club Southampton.

"It is always nice to know that you are wanted by the manager and I am really thankful to the manager for persevering," he told the Star.

"I just want to come up here and play as well as I can for both him and the team and just see how it goes. I'd certainly be very happy to stay beyond December, which is when my loan period runs out."
