Manchester United have kicked off their preseason in perfect fashion and remain unbeaten after four games.

Two victories over American opposition, a 2-0 win over neighbours Manchester City and a penalty success over European champions Real Madrid have gotten Jose Mourinho's preparations off on the right foot.

After defeating Madrid on Sunday - where Anthony Martial providing a sensational run before setting up Jesse Lingard - plenty of Red Devils fans started to believe that the club might be onto something special this season.

With Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku joining the ranks this summer in deals close to a combined £150 million, but against Madrid, a man who arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 really impressed.

Injury robbed Eric Bailly of having the formidable season he should of had for United last season, but the 23-year-old has come back stronger than ever and showed as much against the Spanish giants.

Many United fans have regarded the centre-back position a bit of a problem spot since the departures of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, but Bailly and Lindelof offer the most promising partnership in recent memory.

In fact, Bailly was so good against Madrid, a highlight package of his performance has gone viral on Twitter and it is seriously impressive. Check it out below:

Putting Marcelo on the weights is something in itself, by the way!

The legendary Vidic had plenty of praise for Bailly after watching him play last season and he believes the former Villarreal man has a bright future at the club.

"I like Eric’s aggression," Vida told us. "It is important for a defender. He is young but confident on the ball. Sometimes he gives away some chances but I think it is important to have courage to play at the back.

"He still has space to improve and he is at a great club where he has all the tools to improve so I believe he is going to be here at the club for many years and hopefully help the club to win trophies."

If his performance against Real is anything to go by, United's spine has just gotten a whole lot stronger.
