Considering there is still plenty of time before the new season gets fully underway, there are a lot of people who are taking these friendlies very seriously. In Asia and America in particular, some of Europe's biggest clubs have gone head-to-head as they all try to get into shape ahead of the upcoming campaign. At this time of the year, many players are still getting back into the swing of things and are careful not to over exert themselves during these so-called friendly clashes. Not Luis Suarez, though. The Uruguayan, who is well renowned for wearing his heart on his sleeve, has taken Barcelona's return to action incredibly seriously.Ernesto Valverde's side kicked off their tour of the US with a 2-1 win over Juventus last week and followed it up with another victory over Manchester United late last night.Neymar scored the only goal of the game in the first half by capitalising on a defensive error from Antonio Valencia but Suarez played a fairly important role by purposefully blocking Chris Smalling from making a challenge.Fairly standard Luis Suarez behaviour, right?

But before that, the former Liverpool star was the subject of even more controversy when he blatantly dived.

As you can see in the video below, Suarez initially shows quick feet to take the ball past Paul Pogba, however, for some strange reason he then opts to throw himself on the ground.

What little contact there had been between the pair had ended well before Suarez ended up on a heap on the ground.

Fortunately, the referee was close enough to see Suarez's offence to award Pogba the free-kick.

Having heard the referee's decision, the Barca striker angrily got up and displayed his frustration by belting the ball towards goal.

He was arguably fortunate to avoid picking up a booking for both the dive and kicking the ball the away.

And that prolonged stare at the official afterwards too, very awkward.

You can tell Suarez is just itching for the season to get properly underway.

The Catalans are back in action on Saturday when they face fierce rivals Real Madrid at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

They then return home to play Chapecoense at the Camp Nou on August 7.
