Michy Batshuayi has proven himself to be quiet the character on Twitter. The Chelsea striker, unlike the majority of his peers, seems to have total control of his social media accounts and regularly posts humorous updates. After his brace in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Arsenal last Saturday, Batshuayi sent a great tweet to EA Sports.“R1 + â• & powerful â• = weak foot 5* upgrade needed bro @EASPORTSFIFA #Iknowyourewatching #itsinthegame 👀”, the Belgian wrote. It’s nice to know that some professional footballers are actually human.Batshuayi has used Twitter to promote his nickname, Batsman, a play on words of the superhero Batman.Indeed, he posted a video on Twitter this afternoon of him scoring with an outside-the-foot effort from the corner flag in training, writing: “#BendItLikeBatsman”.

McGregor used his nickname

Batsman, Batman… Batshuayi will go by either name.

So when it was brought to his attention that UFC star Conor McGregor had referred to himself as ‘Batman’ on Instagram, the Chelsea striker felt compelled to reply.

First, McGregor’s Instagram post.

A Chelsea fan let Batshuayi know that McGregor had used his nickname.

“@mbatshuayi wouldn’t take that if I where u, mans trying to steal your identity,” the fan wrote.

Batshuayi reacts

But Batshuayi knows that it would be wise not to mess with McGregor, who became the first fighter in UFC history to hold belts in two different weight classes last year and is currently preparing for a boxing fight against Floyd Mayweather.

The 23-year-old replied: “Ahahaha well I wont argue for this one .......... 🙄 (maybe we can share tho ? 😂😂😂😂”.

A good idea. McGregor is one feisty character.

Batshuayi wants more minutes

It remains to be seen what’s in store for Batshuayi at Stamford Bridge. He was limited to just one start in the Premier League last season and, with Alvaro Morata arriving from Real Madrid, seems destined for more time on the bench in the upcoming campaign.

But, with a World Cup fast approaching, Batshuayi insists he can’t spend another season on the fringes of Antonio Conte’s squad.

“Everyone knows that I have to play more, that I have to score goals,” he said last month, via The Guardian. “There’s a World Cup coming up next year. I want to be ready for the World Cup.

“But I’m not going to ask anything. I’m going to listen to what they are saying. They are the boss, not me. And afterwards I’ll discuss it with my agent and the club.

“Amicably, as friends of course. A loan? That’s not up to me. That’s up to them. They take the decisions, not me.”
