Jon Jones doesn't have the best relationship with UFC President Dana White - to say the least.

"Bones" once reigned as one of the most dominant champions the UFC has ever seen, with his freakish size and athleticism being just far too much for anyone to get in his way inside the Octagon, however, Jones got in his own way with some out-of-competition issues that caused quite a bit of legal trouble. Jones was involved in a hit-and-run incident in which a pregnant woman's arm was broken.

Jones was then stripped of his light heavyweight title, opening the door for rival Daniel Cormier to swoop in and defeat Anthony Johnson to win the vacant title. Jones returned to Octagon action in April to win the interim 205-pound championship from Ovince Saint Preux.

He and Cormier were set to unify their titles at UFC 200 in the card's main event, however, Jones failed a test from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for a banned substance, and was removed from the card just days out from the fight. Now Jones and Cormier are finally set to rematch this weekend (Sat. July 29, 2017) in the main event of UFC 214 on pay-per-view (PPV).

Prior to the UFC 214 pre-fight press conference yesterday (Wed. July 26, 2017) Jones spoke on FS1 alongside Daniel Cormier to promote their fight, and opened up on his relationship with UFC President Dana White. Jones said ever since the events that transpired at UFC 200, Dana White has shown his 'true colors' (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“I feel like he’s shown me his true colors, and now I have no desire to pretend like he cares about me or that we’re friends,” Jones said, prior to Wednesday’s UFC 214 press conference in Los Angeles. The 30-year-old fighter meets Cormier in Saturday’s highly-anticipated main event in Anaheim.

“Dana White has reached out to me on at least four occasions, and I haven’t answered any of his calls or any of his text messages - that’s the reason we haven’t spoken,” Jones said.

“I just feel like when you’re making the company money and you’re a pay-per-view draw and you’re ultimately putting money in his pocket, then you mean a lot to (White),” Jones said.

“The moment you aren’t those things, you mean nothing to him, and he’s done a decent job of showing that. I felt completely abandoned by him… in a situation when I needed him the most.”
