Eley back with Mariners

Teenage goalkeeper Ed Eley has returned to Grimsby following his loan spell at Mansfield.

The 19-year-old joined the Blue Square Premier club in the summer to provide back-up for first-choice keeper Alan Marriott but did not make a first-team appearance.

Stags boss David Holdsworth told the club's official website: "I would like to thank Grimsby Town for the loan of Ed Eley. We certainly wish Ed every success in the future and thank him for his time and effort whilst with our football club."

Eley left Mansfield to join Grimsby as a scholar and signed a six-month professional contract at Blundell Park in May.
