Throughout the years there have been two Superstars that have changed the pro wrestling industry. Those two Superstars are The Rock and WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. They truly had a great rivalry during the Attitude Era and had some classic matches. They have put on one of the most storied rivalries in the history of the WWE.These guys put on the company on their backs when Vince McMahon and the WWF (at the time) were going up against World Championship Wrestling in the late 1990’s. They needed to have new stars and they found them in Rock and Austin.

It’s arguably one of the best rivalries in the history of professional wrestling. They would compete against other at three WrestleMania’s. Two of which were the main event.

They main evented WrestleMania 15 in 1999 for the WWE Championship, which saw Austin go over. Fast forward to WrestleMania 17 in 2001, Austin would again beat Rock in the main event after turning heel and align himself with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Going into WrestleMania 19 in 2003, The Rock vowed to beat Austin at the event, which he did. It turns out that was Austin’s retirement match. He didn’t tell anyone about it but rather kept it quiet.

One of the most entertaining aspects of Rock and Austin’s rivalry was how much “The Brahma Bull” would oversell the Stone Cold Stunner. There are videos that you can find online that shows various oversells Rock did while being stunned.

Most of the time he would be flipping and bounce off the ropes. Some could say that he nearly did a cartwheel and wiggling around on the mat like a fish out of water.

Hannibal Buress recently took to his podcast to talk about how much The Rock would oversell when being stunned by his friend Tony Trimm. You can check that clip out here:

This led to The Rock taking to Twitter to respond to Hannibal. By doing so, he revealed that he and Austin would actually bet cases of beer to see how crazy he could get while selling the stunner. He wrote the following:

“My dude. Appreciate it HB. Me and @steveaustinBSR used to bet cases of beer on how crazy I could get with my "sell" of his famous Stunner.”
