With Neymar's future at Barcelona seemingly close to being decided, focus will soon move back to Kylian Mbappe and where he will be playing next season.

The 18-year-old, currently at Monaco, is valued by his club at €180 million (£160m) and wanted by the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona.

It's Zinedine Zidane's side who lead the race to sign Mbappe, according to the Daily Mail, having agreed a fee that would obliterate the current world record of £89 million.

Spanish reports have contradicted the Mail by claiming Los Blancos and City have an agreement to not pay Monaco's €180 million demands, but this is Real Madrid we're talking about here.

Real have broken the world transfer record five times in their history and, having sold Alvaro Morata to Chelsea and sent James Rodriguez on loan to Bayern Munich, can do so once again.

Mbappe's potential arrival would require a current player to leave, though, with Gareth Bale's future at the Bernabeu in doubt.

Bale's agent has labelled the rumours of him leaving - potentially to Manchester United - as "ridiculous" and "stupid", but if Real decide they want to sell the Welshman, he won't have a choice.

So, how do Real's players feel about the prospect of signing Europe's hottest talent?

Captain Sergio Ramos was asked exactly that in a press conference on Friday and insisted he would welcome Mbappe with open arms, irrespective of the price tag.

"It's not a decision for me but Mbappe is a great prospect, there are not young players around like him," he said. "We have an important year ahead of us and already have excellent players.

"But it's money which moves football and people can pay what they want. If he wants to come to Real Madrid, the doors will be open."

While Real's attacking players will be quietly concerned about the thought of Mbappe challenging them for places, Ramos thinks he would be a class addition.

It's ultimately up to Mbappe, though, and what could prove decisive is how many more players Monaco sell this summer.

Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoue Bakayoko all played vital roles in Monaco's Ligue 1 triumph last season but have moved to the Premier League in recent weeks.

Thomas Lemar is another who could leave amidst rumours of an Arsenal move, which could be the final nail in the coffin for Mbappe's future at the principality club.
