John Cena might be the face of WWE, but he will not surpass “The Man.”

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently spoke with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet while in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During the interview, he was asked about if Cena will break his record of 16 World Championships.

For a quick history lesson, Cena tied the record when he defeated AJ Styles earlier this year at the Royal Rumble PPV (pay-per-view event) in Texas. This is a feat that some could never think would be possible.

Cena is set to face Shinsuke Nakamura on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH to determine a new #1 contender to the WWE Championship. The winner of this match will face Jinder Mahal at the SummerSlam PPV (pay-per-view) event next month. If he beats Mahal at the event then he would break the record.

As far as the question goes, the WWE Legend doesn’t think that it will happen. Here is what he had to say (h/t Wrestling Inc):

"No. Randy Orton is close, so is Triple H. I think John is kind of winding down. He's got so many other things going on. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not a host on Good Morning America or The Today Show. I mean he loves wrestling but he's got so diversified now that I don't think I'll see him chasing the Championship realm. But if he does, I'm all about it."

The WWE roster is loaded at the moment with some of the biggest names in the business. When asked who does he think is the most talented WWE Superstar right now, Flair listed several Superstars.

"Well gosh, I think my daughter's the best male or female they have. I like AJ Styles, I like Randy very much. I like Seth Rollins, I think he's very good. I love Dolph Ziggler. They have a lot of great talent, and it's hard to pick just one. I have a lot of respect for them, and they work really hard."

Flair has had a tremendous career and is arguably the greatest wrestler of all time. However, it could have been different if he broke into the business during this era.
When asked about it, Flair responded by saying, "They wouldn't be able to afford me. If I was 25 right now and came along, there's not enough money. He'd have to give me part of the company. If I could walk in like I was in the 80s, make no mistake, he'd have to give me part of the company."
