For now, it seems like only a matter of time before Neymar joins Paris Saint-Germain.

The French giants are expected to pay the Brazilian's £198 million release clause which would, by far, be the biggest transfer in football history.

Few believed that the forward would ever consider quitting Barcelona; given the fact that he was brought in to be Lionel Messi's long-term successor. But his time could be up in Spain.

Neymar is understood to have grown discontent with having to fight for his place in the spotlight behind Messi, while his goal tally also suffered last campaign.

And it's no secret that the 25-year-old has a long-term ambition to win the Ballon d'Or that has been dominated by his teammate and Cristiano Ronaldo for a number of years now.

His training ground bust-up with new signing Nelson Semedo almost began to make it clearer to the general public that the South American is not happy with life at Barcelona right now.

And that is doing PSG no harm in their pursuit of the global mega star who they believe could significantly improve their chances of becoming a force in the Champions League.

Unai Emery was drafted in from Sevilla last season after his success with the Spanish outfit in the Europa League. But they still failed to get close to the final.

PSG ready to meet Brazilian's sensational demands

And now the Parisians are ready to finalise a deal with the Catalan giants that is expected to earn Neymar £500,000-a-week.

But while the speculation continues to grow around the intricacies of such a deal, and how Financial Fair Play could have an impact, Neymar has kept quiet over the matter.

Gerard Pique, one of Neymar's close friends at Barcelona, has, however, revealed how the Brazil international is feeling about his future at the Camp Nou.

Pique reveals how Neymar's feeling about his future

"Neymar and I, we are very close and I want him to stay and I know the situation," Pique told ESPN, per Sky Sports.

"Right now he doesn't know what to do and we are trying to help him, the ones [on the team] that are more close to him to take the right decision."

It's been reported in recent days that Messi and Luis Suarez had held emergency talks with Neymar to try and convince him to stay.

But if reports from sources close to the player are true, it's almost certain he will sensationally leave Barcelona this summer.
