Ask any Liverpool fan and they’ll tell you that Philippe Coutinho is irreplaceable.

The Brazilian is just 25-years-old and has all the tools to become one of the best players in world football.

That’s why Barcelona are so keen to sign him.

The La Liga giants have already had a €80 million bid rejected for the midfielder but will no doubt improve on that offer before the transfer window ends.

Despite Barca’s interest, Jurgen Klopp remains adamant that his best player isn’t for sale.

Coutinho isn't for sale

"If I say he is not for selling, he is not for selling," Klopp declared. "There is nothing else to say. It’s a club decision, it’s my decision. That’s how it is.

"I can say 20 times, he is not for sale. If you ask the other question the other way and I say, there has been no assurance, you make the story the other way. There is no story for me. Whatever happens from their side, I say he is not for sale. The answer is — not for sale."

But Klopp would have no doubt said the exact same thing about Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski before they left Borussia Dortmund for Bayern Munich when he was in charge.

The truth is, Klopp will find it very difficult to convince Coutinho to stay with Barcelona attempting to turn his head.

And with under two weeks until the start of the Premier League season, Klopp will fear starting the new campaign without Coutinho.

Who Klopp will look to sign to replace Coutinho

And it seems, despite insisting that he will stay, Klopp is already preparing in case he does leave for Barcelona.

According to the Mirror, Klopp will move for Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Christian Pulisic as Coutinho’s replacement if he does join Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou.

The 18-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Anfield last summer with Klopp a big fan of the American. However, he stayed at Dortmund and scored five goals in 41 appearances last season.

And with Coutinho set to “plead with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to let him join Barcelona” the German is already looking to raid his former club for the 18-year-old.

Pulisic is no doubt an incredible prospect but Kopites won’t be happy if their number 10 this season with the youngster - and not Coutinho.
