Since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2015, Arda Turan has failed to really live up to expectations at Barcelona.

The Turkish midfielder established a reputation as one of Europe's finest playmakers under the guidance of Diego Simeone but has found first-team football hard to come by at Barca.

In 2016/17, Turan actually enjoyed his most fruitful campaign yet with the Blaugrana, scoring 13 goals in all competitions.

But, it is clear his days are numbered at the Nou Camp due to the wealth of stars at the club.

In the forward areas, the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar hold dominance and even if the latter does leave for Paris Saint-Germain, the Blaugrana will bring in someone to replace him.

Midfield is also an area where Turan has flattered to deceive, with Ivan Rakitic, Andres Iniesta and Rafinha firmly ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, due to the 30-year-old's stock plummeting since his move, offers for his services have been scarce so far this window, with Barca desperate to offload him.

The Spanish giants have to get rid of at least one of their senior midfielders and since they have been left frustrated with Turan, they will turn their attention to another player.

The unfortunate man is Andre Gomes, who, according to Marca, has received an offer and the Blaugrana are now seriously contemplating it despite the Portuguese international only joining last summer.

Gomes enjoyed a fairly dismal debut campaign with Barca and was even booed by the home fans on occasions.

Nevertheless, the former Valencia man showed significant signs of improvement towards the end of last season and it would perhaps be a mistake to sell him after such a short time.

Turan is the man Barca should be focused on selling and given his reputation across Europe, a club is bound to come in at some point in this crazy transfer window.
