Last night (Sat. July 29, 2017) was one of the most epic nights this year for mixed martial arts (MMA).

The UFC hosted its 214 pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California which featured three title fights. In the main event of the evening, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones went head-to-head with division champ Daniel Cormier, in an attempt to reclaim the title he never lost. Jones was stripped of his title due to legal issues outside the cage, but returned last night to reclaim his throne.

Jones shocked the MMA world with a third round knockout win over "DC," becoming the first man to finish the former Olympian in his fighting career. It was Jones' actions after the fight, however, that got fight fans really talking.

"Bones" issued a statement directly at former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, who currently serves as the WWE Universal Champion on Monday Night RAW, challenging "The Beast" to what would be an insane superfight:

"Brock Lesnar. If you want to know what it feels like to get your a** kicked by a guy that weighs 40 pounds less than you - meet me in the Octagon."

Lesnar immediately responded to Jones' comments through the Associated Press, doubling down on his claims from earlier this week that he'd fight "Bones" "anyplace at anytime":

"Be careful what you wish for, young man," Lesnar replied.

In the post-fight press conference, Jones as asked again about facing Lesnar or perhaps instead fighting current UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. With all due respect, Jones doesn't think Miocic is as big of a household name for a superfight the magnitude of what he is searching for.

A match-up with Lesnar, however, would be a big money payday for the 30-year-old champ who is just now hitting his prime:

"If I'm going to sacrifice being the smaller guy, I think stylistically, Brock [Lesnar] would be a fight that makes more sense," Jones said. "The payday would be tremendous.

"The (impact) for our sport would be tremendous. ... I feel like Stipe is not known to the general public. Most people don't really know who he is, no disrespect. A fight against Brock makes more sense."
