Alexis Sanchez is finally linking up with Arsenal's pre-season camp.

The Chilean was allowed extra time off due to his participation in the Confederations Cup and has missed the club's tours of Australia and China.

The Gunners may have to get used to life without the 28-year-old, as there is absolutely no sign he is going to commit to a new contract.

In fact, he has all but confirmed his desire to leave by recently admitting on Chilean radio that his "idea is to win the Champions League".

If he's fit, the forward may well play in the Community Shield against Chelsea this weekend, though that could turn out to be one of his final appearances.

As it stands, Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be leading the race for his signature.

Sanchez has made it very apparent that he's not happy at Arsenal. Throwing his gloves to the floor, hiding under a coat, claiming he's sick on Instagram - you name it, he's done it, in a bid to make his feelings clear.

With that in mind, Arsenal fans will have been very alarmed by the latest images that have surfaced of his trip back to London.

Sanchez takes a detour

The fact that they were uploaded by his lawyer was the first red flag. To make matters worse, it revealed he was flying to England via Paris.

Considering the level of speculation linking him with PSG, that really is asking for trouble.

However, the Independent suggest that Sanchez actually gets his British work permits in the French capital and may have been renewing the visa he got back in 2014 when he first joined Arsenal.

Uncertain future

Of course, that's not necessarily good news, as were he to join Manchester City, he'd still need an up-to-date British permit.

Arsene Wenger is adamant he will not be sold, and especially not to a Premier League rival. Le Professeur has also insisted he isn't concerned by Sanchez's contract situation.

"Do you really think that [players] sit in the dressing room before a game and think, 'Oh, I only have one year to go, I will not play well today'? Where does that come from?" he asked after watching Arsenal's dubious triumph in the Emirates Cup.

According to the Manchester Evening News, though, City players are already talking openly about the possibility of him moving to the Etihad. Pep Guardiola is yet to be completely convinced by Wenger's 'hands-off' warnings.

This theory about his reasons for visiting Paris doesn't rule out PSG either, but at least it means there's no cause for immediate concern.

Who should Sanchez join if given the choice - City of PSG? Have your say in the comments.
