It was announced on Monday that Sky Sports Box Office will show the hugely anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor on August 26.Sky have won the rights to show the fight and have announced that customers will be able to watch for a one-off payment of £19.95.That seems a fair price when you consider that Mayweather wanted his next fight to cost £100 on pay-per-view in the UK.Anybody wishing to watch the fight in the United States will need to shell out an eye-watering $99 later this month, so boxing/UFC fans in the UK should probably count themselves lucky.Mayweather’s demand was revealed by Eddie Hearn during an interview with GQ. The promoter, however, assured people that Sky were unlikely to go beyond £19.95.He was right and was the first to reveal Sky’s price on Twitter on Monday.

Some boxing fans see the fight as a farce

Some boxing fans - boxing purists, perhaps - still can’t get their heads around the fact this ‘fight’ is actually happening.

They see the event as a total farce and are doing their utmost to avoid the build-up, which will be ramped up even more now Sky are involved.

Hearn has given his prediction

As British boxing’s most famous and influential promoter, Hearn has already been invited to offer his prediction by Sky.

"I can't see Conor McGregor winning this fight unless he can land a shot from nowhere, but no one has been able to do that," he told Sky Sports.

"[Mayweather] is an incredible pound-for-pound fighter. But people want to see if it's possible - four weeks to go."
