Okay, so it’s only pre-season, but take nothing away from Liverpool’s excellent 3-0 victory away at Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.Jurgen Klopp’s side were brilliant from start to finish and thoroughly deserved their confidence-boosting win.Goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah made it 2-0 at the half-time interval while Daniel Sturridge added a late third with a sublime finish.Despite his side’s impressive win, Klopp seemed keen to keep his players’ feet on the ground.“Nearly everything was super but we're still in our preparations,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo. “We haven't played enough football so far. Bayern had too much possession tonight. We had to run around too much.“But at times my team showed how good they can play football. The third goal was great. In attack we were really good.“In the first half we were very dangerous on the counter, the pressing was very good.“I see we are right at the start of getting there. We have trained a lot around these games. It's not that we are fresh and top fit for the preparation games. I am satisfied but I think we can play better.”Better than beating Bayern 3-0 in their own back-yard? If you say so, Jurgen.

Bayern's poor pre-season continues

It’s another worrying result for Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti, whose side have now lost four of their five pre-season matches. Well, three if you don’t include their penalty shootout defeat against Arsenal.

Liverpool, though, continue to impress ahead of the 2017-18 campaign and made it back-to-back 3-0 wins following their victory over Hertha Berlin three days earlier.
