Barcelona officials have found themselves with a huge and unnecessary headache so late in the summer transfer window.

With the clock winding down, they are on the verge of losing Neymar in a surprising deal to Paris Saint-Germain.

EXIT

In what started as just speculation – as is the case every season with players of that stature – it quickly hit home that the Brazil international was seeking a move away from Camp Nou and escape Lionel Messi's shadow.

You’d be forgiven for assuming that this story was all created for headlines, but the latest developments have suggested that it’s only a matter of time before the French side unveil the 25-year-old as their latest marquee signing.

He and Messi have already had an exchange on Instagram which all but confirms his time at the Blaugrana has come to an end, while the club themselves have come out and confirmed that Neymar has asked to leave, so there’s probably no turning back now.

Now, Marca is reporting that the higher-ups are working hard behind the scenes to bring in his replacements and they’d have plenty of funds to make the move possible with Unai Emery’s side ready to stump up with the £198 million release clause – shattering the world record.

REPLACEMENTS

Despite being linked with the likes of Marco Verratti throughout the summer, Marca is claiming that the Camp Nou side has targets in mind that will show the fans that there is life after the infamous MSN, and are only looking at players of a certain quality to minimise their discomfort after losing a player like Neymar.

As has been the case for months now, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho remains on their radar, despite Jurgen Klopp telling them repeatedly that he’s not for sale.

Had they succeeded in signing him, perhaps Neymar wouldn’t have sought an exit either.

They’re claiming that Barcelona know a move for Coutinho would be difficult to pull off, especially with Klopp’s stance on the situation, so if they want to sign him then he’ll have to submit a transfer request.

The second is Juventus frontman, Paulo Dybala.

Marca is claiming that the club has already contacted his representatives, and it’s being said that he’d welcome the chance to join ditch Turin for Barcelona in time for the 2017/18 season and play alongside fellow Argentinean Messi.

With the amount of money they’re set to receive, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Barcelona target two players, instead of throwing it all on one player.
