Barcelona are about to receive the mother of all pay days.

The Catalans are on the brink of losing none other than Neymar in a deal that will not only break the transfer world record but double it. Paris Saint Germain are forking out no less than £196 million for their Brazilian target.

It’s undoubtedly the cherry on the cake for what has already proven a crazy transfer window.

With Neymar’s impending departure breaking up the club’s famous MSN strikeforce, it begs the question as to who will come in as a replacement. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will both have high standards as far as candidates are concerned, too.

The Nou Camp-based side should be able to meet expectations, though, given the money they’re set to receive. It should come as no surprise if Barcelona break the £100 million mark themselves this summer.

Perhaps the most frequented name is Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho but it’s becoming hard to tell just how successful Barca are proving. They have already had a £70 million bid rejected for the Brazilian.

The Reds, at least publically, are emphasising that the midfielder is off the market and have laid down an eye-watering asking price of £134 million.

Consequently, Barcelona are having to weigh up other options. One of which proves Juventus’ Paulo Dybala.

The Argentinean has been linked with a move to Spain for sometime and has even drawn comparisons to his compatriot Messi. Dybala scored twice against Barcelona last season too in their 3-0 quarter final win.

In recognition of the 23-year-old’s talent, the Catalans are willing to chase his signature despite Juventus’ stubbornness over the matter. Nevertheless, the Old Lady have admitted circumstances under which they’d permit the sale.

As per La Gazetto dello Sport, Juventus have named their price at €140 million.

It proves a statement that could make or break the deal with the club essentially issuing a come-get-me with their demand. Barcelona will be able to afford such a fee imminently but it’s a case of whether they consider Dybala worthy.

You’d be hard pressed to argue that it was the correct price but when you assess the Coutinho situation, Barcelona might have no choice. If they’re to scoop a replacement anywhere near the talent of Neymar, nine figures may be necessary.

As far as Juventus are concerned, having procured the Argentine for just €32 million in 2015, they’ll be laughing all the way to the bank. Who knew a 19 goal season could fuel rumours of a quadruple profit?

Over to you, Barca.
