Waghorn keen to stay with Foxes

On-loan striker Martyn Waghorn would like to extend his stay at Leicester.

The 19-year-old is set to return to Sunderland when his current deal expires on January 11. City boss Nigel Pearson has said there is a possibility he could persuade the Black Cats to allow Waghorn to remain on loan.

"I would like to stay. It`s between the two clubs and it isn't my decision, although it kind of is, but if the clubs can agree then I will be more than happy to stay and keep learning," said Waghorn.

"I want to keep progressing at Leicester. It has been great here.

"In the last three games I`ve been starting and playing 60 to 70 minutes-plus. I feel like I`m getting fitter and I feel more like a team member, getting to know how the lads get on. It has been excellent for me."
