Crewe caretaker manager Dario Gradi hopes to use his relationship with former Alex first-team coach Steve Holland to sign players from Chelsea.

Holland is now in charge of the Premier League leaders' reserve team and Gradi believes the link could prove useful.

"These things are based on personalities and relationships. With Steve there's that strong relationship, so if I ever wanted anyone from Chelsea I'd go to him," said Gradi. "That would be a good port of call because Chelsea is a terrific club. They've got Steve and Ray Wilkins there, and I get on well with [Chelsea sporting director] Frank Arnesen too."
