Alberto Moreno's Liverpool career has not been a success since his move from Sevilla, with many fans keen to see the Spaniard sold.

The flying left-back has been a catalogue of mistakes during his time at Anfield and is often heavily blamed for the club's 3-1 loss to Sevilla in the 2016 Europa League final.

Jurgen Klopp has even be pictured screaming at the pint-sized defender on the touchline and last season, he was having no more of it.

After a disastrous opening day performance away at Arsenal - which Liverpool actually won 4-3 - the manager saw fit to replace Moreno with James Milner at left-back and the Englishman continued in the role for the entirety of the season.

Now, the Reds have added Andrew Robertson to their ranks, meaning the 25-year-old has more competition for game time.

As such, his short career at Anfield looks to be over and according to the Liverpool Echo, Watford could be in line to swoop in for him in an £11m deal.

Napoli have already seen a bid rejected and it is understood that Marco Silva wants to complete a deal for him before the opening day.

However, Moreno has actually impressed Klopp in pre-season, but, the manager was still coy on his future with the club.

"If he plays like he did today then yeah (he has a chance of playing)," Klopp said after the full back's impressive Bayern showing. “It was a really good game by Alberto. That's why we kept him playing every second.

“He was playing better, he's really fit. He had a little problem with his thigh but we had a test with him in the morning and he was okay.

“The players decide themselves how many games they play.”

With Milner and Robertson at his disposal, Klopp will surely look to offload Moreno in order to increase his funds to acquire players this summer.
