Make no mistake about it, big match John doesn’t lose very often.

The former WWE Champion is one of the most famous wrestlers in the world today and one of the biggest names of all time. He is no doubt a future WWE Hall of Famer. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when the company will induct him into their Hall of Fame.

John Cena, who made his debut with the company in 2002 during an episode of SmackDown in a singles match against WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, is a household name.

One of the biggest news stories to come out this week as the fact that Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Cena to earn a WWE Championship match against Jinder Mahal at Summerslam.

With the win, Nakamura also joined an exclusive club of Superstar who has defeated Cena clean in the past decade. It should be noted that when we use the word clean, it means that there was no outside interference or shenanigans. Cena just loses the match. It has only happened 14 times in the past decade.

Here is the list of times that Cena has lost clean in the past decade (h/t to r/batnorris on Reddit and Brandon Stroud of Uproxx):

– Shawn Michaels (Raw, 2007)

– The Great Khali (Saturday Night’s Main Event, 2007)

– Triple H (Night Of Champions, 2008)

– Batista (SummerSlam, 2008)

– Big Show (Raw, 2009)

– Triple H (Raw, 2009)

– The Rock (WrestleMania, 2012)

– Daniel Bryan (SummerSlam, 2013)

– Brock Lesnar (SummerSlam, 2014)

– Kevin Owens (Elimination Chamber, 2015)

– Alberto Del Rio (Hell in a Cell, 2015)

– AJ Styles (SummerSlam, 2016)

– Dean Ambrose (Smackdown, 2016)

– Shinsuke Nakamura (Smackdown, 2017)

Although Cena doesn’t have a match officially announced for the upcoming SummerSlam PPV (pay-per-view) event on August 20th, he is rumored to face Baron Corbin. After that show, he is scheduled to move over to Monday Night Raw.

He is scheduled for his first Raw pay-per-view since the Draft last year with WWE No Mercy at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, September 24th. In regards to when he will stop working SmackDown TV events, it will be with the SummerSlam go-home show on Tuesday, August 15th. After that, he is only scheduled to work Monday Night Raw tapings and Raw pay-per-views.

Cena will only be working RAW live events starting this month except for the SmackDown live event on Monday, August 14th at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA.
