Liverpool have been mightily impressive in pre-season thus far, winning one competition and losing on penalties in the final of another.Jurgen Klopp has now firmly got his claws into this Liverpool side and the remnant of Brendan Rodgers' reign at Anfield is slowly fading. With new signings like Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Dominic Solanke all making an impression this summer, the future looks bright at Anfield. But, it's easy to forget the slew of fine youngsters they have coming through the ranks too.The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, the recently sold Kevin Stewart and Ben Woodburn have made a real impression over the last 12 months and are set for bright futures in the game.Woodburn, 17, clocked up nine senior appearances last term and became the club’s youngest ever goal scorer when he netted in the EFL Cup tie with Leeds at Anfield. He also earned himself a shock call-up to the Wales squad last season, and the goal he scored on Saturday against Atletic Bilbao showed exactly why. After new-boy Solanke cut the ball back from the left-hand side, Woodburn sold a Bilbao defender before driving a sweet effort across the 'keeper from 18-yards out. Beautiful finish!

The Liverpool fans are loving the young man's impact, too.

Woodburn has been involved in nearly all of Liverpool's pre-season fixtures this summer and looks like he could make the breakthrough under Klopp.

If he does, he just wants to repay the German's faith in him.

“I have enjoyed every minute of it so much,” he said.

“It’s been a massive learning experience for me, especially alongside the players we have in the squad. Having those people around has made learning easier for me.

“I wouldn’t say I get nervous about anything now, I get excited because I just love playing football.

“I feel like we’ve got quite a good relationship. He has been really good with me and since I’ve been with the first team, he’s helped me a lot.

“It makes it special when you get advice from someone like him. He is one of the best in what he does. I just hope I can repay him with what I do on the pitch.
