Ladies and gentlemen, Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor is less than a month away.

While it’s still hard to believe the fight is really taking place, it’s difficult not to be excited about the match-up that is literally transcending sports. If nothing else, the fight is pitting two of sports’ biggest personalities up against each other.

A series of thoroughly entertaining press conferences have been born from that very fact and fans are being drawn into the showmanship of it all.

Yet the fight shouldn’t really be attracting as much attention as it is. Notorious is, after all, preparing for his first ever professional boxing match against one of the greatest ever to step in the ring

Oh, and he’s unbeaten across 49 bouts too.

But it is because of the drama and the war of the words that this fight is so spectacular and grandiose, nevertheless. Even if McGregor is tasting canvas within the first round, there will have been an incredible show.

What else should we expected from the boxer self-proclaimed as ‘Money’? As per Forbes, Mayweather is the richest athlete on the planet and only his Manny Pacquiao clash will outweigh this match in terms of finances.

Even so, it’s not strictly clear just how much the 40-year-old will make from the fight exactly. An interview on Showtime’s ‘All Access’ series on the fight has given the most accurate estimate so far, though.

The video even starts with Mayweather flaunting wads of dollar bills and discussing his love affair with currency. Check out the episode below:

He also simply states that he will accumulate the small matter of $300 million for what he calls “36 minutes of work.” Astonishingly, that equates to a gargantuan $8.33 million per minute earning during the fight.

Bricks of $100 bills then emerge on the table with Money stating: "You won't make this in a lifetime.” Wow.

So the moral of the story is that fighting McGregor is doing him no harm as far as his bank account is concerned. Notorious could knockout his opponent in just seven seconds and Mayweather would still have earned $1 million.

Yet, as obsessive as Mayweather is about money, he will be equally obsessive over securing an unprecedented 50-0 record in the sport. It would, after all, see him eclipse Rocky Marciano and move clear as the new record holder for an unbeaten world champion.

And what’s a UFC fighter to a half century of wins? Well, $300 million, to be fair.
