Manchester United recently beat Premier League rivals Chelsea to secure the £75m signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

The 24-year-old Belgian striker was on holiday with Paul Pogba in Miami this summer and the French midfielder believes he was key to Lukaku's transfer.

Lukaku has looked sharp in pre-season, netting on three separate occasions for his new club.

Chelsea ended up splashing out an initial £58m fee on Alvaro Morata, who missed a penalty after coming off the bench in Sunday's Community Shield final.

Antonio Conte's side were beaten by Arsenal on penalties but will hope to get their Premier League season off to a good start when they host Burnley on Saturday.

Lukaku is expected to make his competitive Manchester United debut when they face Real Madrid in the Super Cup final on Tuesday night.

The match is due to take place in Skopje and will see last season's Europa League winners and last season's Champions League winners go head-to-head.

Pogba reveals how he convinced Lukaku

Pogba and Jesse Lingard recently took part in Copa90's YouTube series 'FIFA and Chill' and the Frenchman was asked about his role in Lukaku's signing.

The pair have been friends for some time and have struck up a bit of a bromance at Manchester United over the summer.

He was asked: "Lukaku moved to United, what role did you play Agent P? You hooked it up?"

"I've been preparing this," said Pogba. "It was a long, long work. I took him to dinner, talked to him and stuff like that. I had to work. It was a long work but in the end he's here, he's with us, he's banging goals."

Lukaku appears to have settled quickly at his new club and - with years of experience of scoring goals in the Premier League - is expected to hit the ground running.

“Romelu is a natural fit for Manchester United," said Mourinho upon signing the Belgian. "He is a big personality and a big player.

"It is only natural that he wants to develop his career at the biggest club. He will be a great addition to the group and I know they will make him very welcome. I am really looking forward to working with him again.”

You can be sure that Chelsea fans will feel a tinge of pain every time Lukaku hits the back of the net in a Manchester United shirt.
