Paulie Malignaggi has admitted that he “absolutely” regrets agreeing to help Conor McGregor prepare for his fight against Floyd Mayweather on August 26.The former professional boxer was brought in to spar with McGregor but, when some unfavourable photos of Malignaggi from their session were leaked, he took to Twitter to blast the Notorious.“This coming week I'll actually start to discuss a bit what happened Tuesday, he whimpers like a girl when he gets ripped to body lol,” Malignaggi wrote on Saturday. He added: “I suppose the a** whippin didn't suit him so he posted dumb pics again by Thurs while skipping sparring that day.”So it’s worth keeping an eye on Malignaggi’s Twitter feed this week.

Malignaggi blasted McGregor for Diaz submission

The 36-year-old continued to fire shots at McGregor in response to a clip of the UFC star’s defeat to Nate Diaz at UFC 196 last year.

McGregor tapped out after Diaz locked him into the rear-naked choke. And Malignaggi has criticised McGregor for submitting.

A fan tweeted a clip of McGregor tapping out to Malignaggi. He responded by writing: “Watch how he rolls over n gives his back then doesn't protect his neck, he wanted 2 be choked out so he could tap n end the misery #NoBalls.”

He added: “No shame in losing to a great fighter like Nate but have some balls at least and go out on your shield, he tried til he got tired lol.”

McGregor’s team are yet to respond to Malignaggi’s latest claims. But boxing fans are eagerly anticipating the full footage of their sparring sessions.

Khan slammed Mayweather vs McGregor

The big fight between McGregor and Mayweather is just weeks away, although not everyone is looking forward to it.

British boxer Amir Khan told Gulf News that he’s expecting a “s**t fight”.

“I think it is going be a s*** fight,” he said.

“It’s all just talk at the moment. Mayweather will simply totally outclass him. I mean, if you look at it, it’s not really a fight.

“McGregor has no boxing background and experience. I can safely predict a horrible knockout.

“Mayweather has not had a KO for the past six years. But with this one against McGregor he is bound to be an easy winner.”

If McGregor decides to continue his boxing career after the fight, there’s every chance he could persuade Malignaggi to come out of retirement.
