When Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor was announced, Mayweather Promotions made sure the world knew that the undercard would not have another flurry of crossover spectacles.

They made the calculated decision to make this a true boxing affair, regardless of how it may appear to fans on the outside.

However, with this fight likely to be the most lucrative in the history of boxing, a whole host of fighters have been scrambling to get on the undercard.

According to The Independent, the other fights on the card are beginning to shape up and for true boxing fans that hold a disdain for the main event, there is plenty to get excited about further down the card.

Mayweather Promotions will obviously have a heavy influence on the fighters they choose and thus, are likely to show bias towards their own stable.

Because of this, Badou Jack and Gervonta Davis are expected to take to the ring on August 27 in Las Vegas.

Jack's last outing was a draw with James DeGale, but he is now targeting a bout with DeGale's compatriot Nathan Cleverly, the WBA light heavyweight champion.

Davis looks set to take on WBO junior lightweight champion Román Martínez , a man who suffered a knockout loss to the phenomenal Vasyl Lomachenko last time out.

There is expected to be two fights before the actual box office event gets underway and American welterweight is expected to feature on that early portion of the card.

One confirmed fight for the card sees British fighter Savannah Marshall make her professional debut.

Speaking in June, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe announced that Marshall would feature on the card.

“Speaking of Savannah, she doesn't know this so I'll break this, she will make her pro debut on that card,” Ellerbe told Sky Sports in June.

“That's breaking news. She doesn't know that and I haven't spoken to her about that, but that's the plan. She's going to make her pro debut on that card.

“We're really excited. She's a tremendous talent and we're very glad to welcome her into the Mayweather Promotions stable. She's an outstanding fighter, she's a very classy young lady, and we're very happy to be able to work with her.”
