Brentford brought Gateshead's FA Cup run to an abrupt end with a convincing 5-2 win in their first-round replay at Griffin Park.

Charlie MacDonald and Myles Weston scored a brace apiece for the Londoners, who scored twice in the last three minutes of the first half to lead 2-0 at the break.

Ben Strevens had opened the scoring for the Bees, while Graeme Armstrong was on target twice for the Blue Square Premier side.

Fellow non-league outfit Stevenage also went out, beaten 1-0 at home by Port Vale for whom Louis Dodds was on target after 24 minutes.

One non-league side did make it through, though, Conal Platt scoring twice, including an injury-time winner, to give Forest Green a 2-1 win at Blue Square Premier rivals Mansfield.

Kyle Perry had levelled for the hosts in the 71st minute.

Carlisle beat Morecambe 1-0 thanks to Joe Anyinsah's fifth-minute goal, while Tranmere won by the same scoreline at Leyton Orient, Ash Taylor the scorer.
