Conor McGregor is surely regretting his decision to invite Paul Malignaggi to work as his main sparring partner ahead of the Floyd Mayweather bout on August 26.The fallout from Malignaggi’s decision to quit the training camp is casting a shadow over McGregor’s preparations. It’s causing an unnecessary distraction.Malignaggi is seriously angry with McGregor after two photos were leaked online from the sparring sessions. Both indicated that the former two-time world boxing champion had suffered a beating at the hands of the UFC superstar."It's about ego, and I'm not an ass-kisser like the guys around him,” Malignaggi was quoted as telling The MMA Hour, by the Mirror, earlier this week."It's all about status, he's a scumbag. It's all about who kisses his ass better."

The 'mutual respect' has now gone

The “mutual respect” that Malignaggi claimed he had with McGregor after he originally decided to quit the training camp last week has now completely disappeared.

The war of words shows no signs of abating.

Malignaggi claims that he had the better of McGregor in the second sparring session after a tough opener.

The 36-year-old also says he was asked to spar 12 rounds a day after flying back to Las Vegas from New York.

The text message that convinced Malignaggi to quit

And according to the Mirror, it was a text message that convinced Malignaggi to quit the training camp.

What did it say?

Well, apparently the text message told Malignaggi to be at the gym to meet McGregor in 90 minutes time.

When he arrived, he was told he was no longer required to be there.

This was the final straw for the American, who subsequently decided to leave the camp.

Malignaggi has since revealed a number of confidential things about the sparring sessions, including the information that McGregor “whimpers like a girl” when he gets punched to the body.

It’s safe to say Malignaggi won’t be cheering for a McGregor victory when the big fight comes around in three weeks time.
