Compared to their Premier League title rivals, Liverpool's transfer business has been rather modest.

However, Jurgen Klopp still broke the club's record transfer fee to bring Mohamed Salah to the club from AS Roma for £34.3 million in June.

Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson both arrived at Anfield either side of the Egyptian's switch from Serie A, but it seems that the former Chelsea star's arrival will be the most high profile this summer.

Three-and-a-half years ago Salah rejected Liverpool for the Blues but now finds himself on Merseyside after a relatively unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge.

While Chelsea are unlikely to rue the loss of the winger and the 25-year-old will be out to prove a point this season - that he can be a big success in the Premier League.

Already in pre-season, Salah has shown real promise for the Reds and could be a key player at Anfield this campaign. But he is refusing to allow his price tag to overshadow him.

"I am not thinking too much about being the most expensive player in the club's history," Salah told Sky Sports.

Instead, the winger is focused on making a successful transition back to English football after two seasons with Roma, in which time he believes his all round game has improved.

Salah admits he's improved

"I think I have improved everything. I think now, compared to three or four years ago, I can defend more, I can play more tactically, I can finish better than I could before," said Salah.

"I scored about 40 goals with Roma so that's quite good. I always like to improve myself."

But Salah's arrival at Liverpool is not solely about him proving himself in English football, but fulfilling a dream the Egyptian has admitted he had as a young boy.

"It is a great club. It was a dream for me when I was young to play here one day," the former Roma star admitted.

"When I had the chance to come, I was thinking about whether I should stay in Rome or move here but because when I was young, it was a dream to me, I took the decision to come back.

"I would play as Liverpool on the PlayStation so I am happy to be here now. I was playing with a team like Steven Gerrard, Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher.

"I liked the team and the way they were playing. I was seven or eight years old so I was playing just to enjoy myself."

Klopp's men return to the Champions League this season - no doubt playing a big part in Salah's switch to Liverpool - but his dreams are going beyond European nights at Anfield.

"I am very happy to be here and I would like to help the team so I am very excited to start in the Premier League games and I think we can win something this year together," Salah added.

Time will tell if Salah could prove to be one of the best 'bargains' in the summer transfer window.
