WWE may be turning Jason Jordan heel soon.

A few weeks back, it was revealed that former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan of American Alpha was WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle’s illegitimate son. This was a shocker for sure.

Instead of going with what rumors were saying about Angle’s big news, WWE went outside of the box and did the unthinkable. If you really look at it, WWE gave their fans hints about this storyline over the last few weeks on SmackDown Live. The company was not doing much with American Alpha, and they had been working dark matches. Then out of the blue, Chad Gable was working matches with top stars with Jordan nowhere to be seen.

Dave Meltzer indicated in the latest installment of his long running Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the sports entertainment company may turn the former NXT Tag Team Champion into a bad guy. The belief is that if the original plan doesn’t pan out with Jordan benefiting from a rub from Kurt Angle, they could have him turn on Angle.

It’s always possible that WWE could do a storyline where Jordan claims that he made the whole story about him being the son of Angle and that Angle, as well as the fans, were stupid enough to believe it. Within WWE, the belief is that the fans do not buy into the storyline and don’t care about it enough to hate it.

There were rumors that WWE would have Jordan challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV (pay-per-view) event next Sunday night in Brooklyn, New York. However, due to some in WWE feeling that it was too early for that, the match got nixed. Now, it appears that Jordan even will not be appearing on the show, which is a shame. WWE will likely book this match at another upcoming pay-per-view event. The heel could happen during their program down the line, but it will be interesting to see if WWE does end up pulling the trigger on the heel turn.
