Shrewsbury's faltering form continued as only an injury-time equaliser denied Bury their sixth away win of the season in a 1-1 draw at the New Meadow.

Both sides made light of appalling conditions and Danny Nardiello put Bury ahead when he skipped through the surface water and passed three defenders to work a one-two with Andy Morrell before finding the top corner with a great strike from 18 yards.

Bury's veteran keeper Wayne Brown coped comfortably with long-range shots from Dean Holden and Waide Fairhurst, while Shrewsbury's debutant teenage keeper did just as well to save a Michael Jones free-kick.

In torrential rain Shrewsbury used three substitute strikers in a bid to get back into the game but it was seconds after the 90-minute mark when one of them, Omer Riza, centred for skipper Graham Coughlan to head in off the far post for his first goal of the season and earn the point.
