Danny Rose caused quite a stir last week by saying he's prepared to leave Tottenham for a club like Manchester United to "get what I am worth".The 27-year-old, who has featured in the last two PFA Team of the Years, believes he should be on more than his current £65,000-per-week wage packet in north London. This is despite the fact Rose has been out injured for the past six months and didn't play any role in Tottenham's run-in last season."At my age, and having missed six months with injury, I have been thinking about this quite a lot," he told The Sun. "I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me."I will say this too - I will play up north. I don't know exactly when, but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere."One thing is for sure - I know my worth and I will make sure I get what I am worth. I am not playing as well as I have done not to get paid what I think I am worth."In the days since Rose's scathing comments, a number of high-profile figures have come out and slammed the England international.Gary Neville said Rose acted in an "unprofessional manner", while ex-Tottenham chairman Lord Alan Sugar described him as "unprofessional and totally ungrateful".Alan Shearer has now reacted to Rose wanting more money and in a passionate rant on Match of the Day, he also slammed the England international. Check it out below.

SHEARER SHUTS ROSE DOWN

Jermaine Jenas began by saying: "If the wage structure is up to £60,000-a-week, as a club, to keep those players happy they need to be pushing towards the £80/90/100-a-week model, especially given where we are in today's game."

To which Shearer responded: "I would argue against that, particularly in the Danny Rose situation.

"[The] timing of it was all wrong. He hasn't won anything with Spurs as of yet, he signed a five-year contract 10 or 11 months ago and hasn't played for the last seven months.

"How on earth he can come out and moan about lack of money or lack of wages?"

Shearer was then asked what Rose should do if he sees a player on more money than him playing for a club below Tottenham. He replied: "Don't sign the contract then.

"We saw Tottenham over the last 18 months roll in different players and sign contracts with [Mauricio] Pochettino. Eighteen months later you can't moan about it - you haven't won anything.

"I understand there's been progression, but these players haven't won anything. We saw them nosedive in the Champions League, and a lot of them nosedive with England last summer.

"At the minute I don't see how too many can say we deserve more money."

Nailed it. Football fans were all in agreement with Shearer on Sunday night and hailed the Newcastle United legend for bringing Rose back down to earth.
