WWE fans were left worried over the weekend when news broke that two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair had been hospitalised. Those concerns were somewhat calmed by his management team when they confirmed that he was undergoing a routine check-up for heart issues.

HEALTH ISSUES

Pro Wrestling Sheet originally broke the news that the Nature Boy was taken to an ICU after he was admitted by his family.

A representative for the 68-year-old first released a statement on social media, claiming: “Yes, Ric is checked into a hospital for some routine monitoring. No, there is no reason to panic.

“Yes, we’d like to thank his fiancé & the incredible hospital staff who are providing the best care. No, we cannot answer any personal questions. Yes, Ric would want you to go out and have a great weekend…Nature Boy style!”

However, that changed on Sunday night when Melina Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertained posted a tweet which hinted that Flair’s condition is, in fact, worse than originally claimed by a representative.

UPDATE

Flair has made it known that he suffers from a heart condition known as alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which is caused by the long-term effects of alcohol abuse which makes the heart muscles weaker.

As a result, the heart can’t pump blood efficiently around the body and can lead to heart failure, so it’s clear why fans have been so concerned.

Legacy Talent and Entertainment counts Flair as one of its major clients, and both Zanoni and the company posted updates asking fans for prayers and positive energy.

Fans are now wondering what is really going on as they perhaps wouldn't have said what they did over a routine check-up - claiming that he's dealing with tough medical issues.

Zanoni tweeted: “Are u a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair? If so, we need prayers & positive energy 4 our living legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues”

The company then expanded on that in a Facebook post, where they wrote: “Did you start watching wrestling because of Ric Flair? Does he entertain you every time you see him?

“Ever use any of his sayings? Do you have a great Ric Flair story? Do you ‘WOOOOO!’ every time he’s mentioned? Are you a fan? friend?

“If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above, we need your prayers, positive energy, and well wishes for our living legend as he is dealing with some tough medical issues. Thank you!”

Fans haven’t stopped flooding Flair’s social media account with positive messages, hoping that the latest update doesn’t end up being anything too serious.
