Jose Mourinho's comments when Galatasaray were linked with Marouane Fellaini last month caught everyone - possibly even the Belgian - by surprise.

“It is easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. Forget it. He’s very important for me," the Manchester United boss said.

And just like that, the Turkey rumours evaporated and Fellaini's future was seemingly assured.

Since then, the 29-year-old came on as a second half substitute in the Red Devils' opening Premier League game of the season as well as the European Super Cup defeat vs Real Madrid.

However, that hasn't stopped fresh speculation regarding his immediate fate emerging.

According to The Sun, Fellaini has taken the unexpected interest of European giants Juventus.

The Old Lady are eager to improve their midfield before the summer transfer window closes and want a tall, strong player to join their ranks.

This has become an even bigger priority since the surprising loss to Lazio last Sunday in the Italian Super Cup.

Paris Saint-Germain's Blaise Matuidi is understood to be their first choice, with a potential agreement being reached at the weekend, but even if that deal does go through, manager Max Allegri would like to see Fellaini also join the club.

Whether they can convince Man United and Mourinho to sell the Belgium international, though, is an entirely different matter.

The same article claims Juve are only prepared to offer the Premier League giants £22.5m for Fellaini's services.

For a player Mourinho is reluctant to sell, that fee doesn't seem quite enough.

Although he hasn't always been a popular figure at Old Trafford, Fellaini has now made over 130 appearances since joining the club four years ago.

And his stock has never been higher than it is currently under Mourinho. Would he really want to leave just when supporters are finally beginning to accept him?
